I have recently moved to the Santa Fe NM area and am looking for the right spot to build a homestead!

I am a single, 47 year old highly creative spirit with many skills and extensive experience in Residential Design and Off-grid Construction, Organic Food Production/Farming/Landscaping, Greenhouses, and Solar Systems. I am highly conscientious and reliable. I always show up on time and do what I say I will do. I like to focus and work quickly, but I also have a near perfect safety record and no permanent injuries, unlike most carpenters I know! Paying close attention at all times and avoiding unnecessary drama is the key to a smooth job site. My goal as a professional is to understand what my client wants, to see the vision, maybe help develop it, and then to make it come to life.

The first five yeas of my life were in an Intentional Community of over 1500 people (half of which were also under 5 years old) that built its own houses and grew 90% of its own food. Then my parents moved us to New England where I attended both public and private schools. After straight A’s in prep-school I surprised everyone and decided NOT to attend college at all and go fully autodidactic. So while my friends were at Princeton, Brown, Cornell and Harvard, I was growing acres of Echinacea Flowers and selling them to a liquid herbal extract company in New York. Later I moved out to Orcas Island Washington where I began my career as a carpenter. After working for contractors for a few years I went independent and found a client who let me design and build her Oceanfront Art Studio when I was 22 years old. I stayed on Orcas for 4 years, then In 2003 I moved to a very remote part of Maui, where I landed a job working for Woody Harrelson on his private permaculture estate! Like many of my jobs it started with a specific project, and then quickly expanded to multiple projects and managing crews of workers.
